Welcome to the Toombs County School System. As school Superintendent and on behalf of the Toombs County Board of Education, we want to make every effort to keep parents, students, and the educational community informed about their business – the education of Toombs County students. Hopefully more students and the community as a whole will have the opportunity to visit their child's school and the school staff and administration through the use of their school and system website. Although the website will be a constant "work in progress," we will make every attempt through our staff to keep the site current with various events, policies, and procedures.

The Toombs County Board of Education meets on the second Thursday of each month, 6:00 PM, at the Toombs County Board Office Complex, 117 East Wesley Avenue, in Lyons. A tentative agenda for each board meeting is formed approximately one week before the actual board assembly. The school superintendent proposes the board agenda with consultation from the Board Chairman, Ross D. Bowen. The "official board agenda" is adopted once the school board assembles and a majority of the board votes to affirm the proposed agenda. Deletions or additions may be made to the agenda if by majority vote the board desires to consider such items during the meeting. All official acts of the Toombs County Board of Education will be kept in the minutes of the board and will be publicized in summary form until the board "officially" accepts the minutes at their next regular board meeting. The minutes, once approved, will be entered into the official record book where they are kept for future reference for the use of the board and/or public perusal. It is our hope to be able to display a summary of the minutes of the board on our school system website in a timely manner.
